Tom has been working at Knowles Electronics for over a quarter century. For many years he developed balanced armature devices for hearing aid and music earphone use. More recently he has been researching and working with headphone designers on issues such as preferred tonal balance, active noise reduction (ANC), wind noise reduction, active distortion reduction, and in-ear voice capture. Tom learned much about methods of manipulating sound to create audio impressions early in his career while Chief Technical Engineer at Universal Recording Studio in Chicago.
